Nina Powar
Nina specialises in immigration law with nearly 10 years of experience in this area. Nina’s diverse practice also includes asylum, nationality issues, human rights and family-related immigration. She assists clients with entry clearance, in-country applications and appeals under the UK Immigration Rules. She also provide legal representation at the First-tier Tribunal and Upper Tribunal.
EEA Law – In light of Brexit negotiations, Nina is currently working closely with many of her EEA national clients to settled status in the UK and successfully going on to assist with British citizenship applications.
Business Immigration – She has extensive experience in owning retail businesses and managing residential/commercial property, leading to a keen interest in business-related matters. In particular she enjoys dealing with entrepreneur and investor applications, sponsorship licensing and advising companies employing non-EEA nationals.
Professional Membership of Approved Bodies – Nina is a regulated immigration adviser at the highest level (level 3) of the Office of Immigration Services Commissioner. She was previously a member of ILPA (Immigration Law Practitioners Association). She attends courses and keeps updated on the latest in immigration law via HJT Training.
Nina is a former supervising counsellor at the charity Immigration Advisory Service, previously holding supervisor status and senior membership of the Law Society’s Immigration Asylum Accreditation Scheme. She also acted as an advocate in the First-tier and Upper Tribunals dealing with immigration, asylum, and nationality law. She recruited and developed her team of advisers, paralegals, and counsellors.

Nina likes to fly light aircraft and has a Private Pilot’s Licence.
She likes keeping healthy (body, mind and spirit) and is a 200 hr qualified vinyasa flow yoga teacher.
She likes cooking and specialises in Punjabi North Indian cuisine. She organises bespoke Indian themed evenings involving cooking, dancing and Bollywood entertainment.
